Everything about Eggs.  Carl Faberge Imperial eggs developed from the Easter Egg tradition.  Beautifully decorated art jewelry eggs, Easter Eggs, and Edible eggs.

The Easter of 1885 was the twentieth anniversary of Czar Alexander III and Czarina Maria Fedorovan.

At the time, Carl Faberge was making beautiful jewelry that were considered works of art.  The Czar commissioned Faberge to create the first Imperial Egg for his wife in celebration of Easter and their anniversary. Thus begin the tradition of the Faberge eggs. The unique jeweled eggs were created with an equally unique piece of jewelry hidden inside the egg.
